5-November... World Tsunami Awareness Day...


To remind the importance of global efforts to mitigate the impact of tsunamis, United Nations has designated this day (5-nov) as World Tsunami Awareness Day. 

This day aims to raise awareness about the risks associated with tsunamis and the preventive measures that can save lives...  Also, it honors the countless lives lost in past tsunamis, fostering a collective commitment to building more resilient communities and implementing effective early warning systems worldwide...

Belgian Postal Administration in the year 2005 issued a commemorative postage stamp to support the Red Cross charity, marking the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and ensuring tsunami that affected Sumatra, Indonesia and neighboring regions... The stamp, valued at 0.50 Euro for postal services, carried an additional 0.12 Euro, dedicated to charitable initiative...
