7-December... International Civil Aviation Day...

The International Civil Aviation day was celebrated across the World on this day...  The day was celebrated to mark the formation of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), a specialized agency of United Nations... 

Headquarter in Quebec, the ICAO controls the principles and techniques of International Air navigation and promotes the planning and development of International Air transport to ensure safety and orderly growth of the Industry...

The purpose of the day was to create awareness of the importance of International Civil Aviation to the social and economic development of States...

Kuwait Postal Administration in the year 1999 commemorated the day with the release of three sets of postage stamps...

1944-ஆம் ஆண்டு ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையால் சர்வதேச சிவில் விமான போக்குவரத்து நிறுவனம் தொடங்கப்பட்டது...  இந்த நிறுவனம் தொடங்கப்பட்ட தினத்தை ஆண்டுதோறும் சிவில் விமான போக்குவரத்து தினமாக அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது... இந்த தினத்தை சிறப்பிக்க குவைத் நாட்டின் அஞ்சல்துறை மூன்று அஞ்சல்தலைகளை 1999-ஆம் ஆண்டு வெளியிட்டது...

The Presidential proclamation which changed the legal status of African-Americans won the majority on this day in the year 1863... The Proclamation lifted the spirits of African-Americans both free and enslaved... 

Enacted by the then American President, Abraham Lincoln, the proclamation ensured the abolition of slavery in all the US States...  

The 100th year of Emancipation Proclamation was commemorated by the US Postal Administration with the release of a 5-cents postage stamp in the year 1963...

5-December... Death Anniversary of V Veerasingam...

A man of remarkable energy with high motivation, Visvalingam Veerasingam was remembered on this day...  

He was a teacher in the Manipay Hindu College in Jaffna, Sri Lanka and also served as its Principal in the year 1922...

He was a prominent leader in promoting the Co-operative Societies in the Jaffna district...  The multi-storied Co-operative building in the Jaffna Clock Tower was named after him as "Veerasingam Hall"... 

In the year 1952, he was elected to the Sri Lankan Parliament as Independent candidate...  He was held in high respect, being a man who exemplified the importance of a moral code and integrity in public life...  He was honored with the award of Member of the Order of the British Empire...

Sri Lankan Postal Administration commemorated Visvalingam Veerasingam with the release of a postage stamp in the year 2016...

Nepoleon Bonaparte also referred to as Nepoleon - I was coronated on this day in the year 1804...

The French Statesman and a military leader, Nepoleon was the Emperor of France from 1804 to 1814 and again in 1815...  

Nepoleon dominated Europe and global affairs for more than a decade while leading France against a series of coalitions during the Nepoleonic Wars...  

He won vast majority of his battles during his period as Emperor of France...  But, in the year 1815, he was defeated at last in the Battle of Waterloo...  After this defeat, Nepoleon was exiled to the Island nation of Saint Helena where he died in the year 1821...
